Sydney and a concert at the Opera House
Who says Sydney doesn't have any good doors, like those in Europe? I found a few today on Macquarrie Street, together with some colonial connections, after leaving the train at -guess where.

Not sure about the building marked Dept of health with 'Bar' on the entrance walls--must mean the 'legal' Bar!? The sandstone looks lovely in evening light and the Christmas flags are out.

There was also a cruise ship at Circular Quay, so all the cafés were full. A power boat excursion was unloading it's mauve caped passengers at the nearby quay.

I had been generously given a ticket to the world renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) where a stunningly Swedish talented clarinettist--Martin Fröst played several works, a world première in honour of Paddy Palin, no less, with Australian composer Brenton Broadstock, present and sitting near me, Mozart's clarinet concerto and some compositions of his brother. He also DANCED while playing-to conduct the orchestra.

The lead violinist , Satu Vanska, was also brilliant and young. I grew up when orchestra players were all over 40. You should see this lot! So young and energetic. Mind you, the audience hasn't changed much, with a few exceptions. I think by going, I reduced the average age a little.
The stage picture shows Satu and Martin bowing to an ovation, both holding their bouquets.
