They guilliotined WHO?

Only the Father of chemistry--Lavoisier--after he had made spectacular discoveries, in the insane rush of revolution--thereby setting back chemical sciences by 50 years.

My picture is of his laboratory equipment at the Musee d'arts et metiers, Paris, while the 'kids' set off on bikes for the Eiffel Tower, where we joined them later after a relaxed cafe lunch. Also the usual passing gypsy asking for money.

Alison and Jacqui left the Eiffel Tower before we arrived-to go back to the Galleries Lafayette!

Throughout the day, discoveries of yet more 'passages couvert' thanks to a book from Francois and finally some very serious shopping-jewellery and fragrances (the latter for me!?).

Back at the Place de la Republique, children were benefitting from a water mist, installed for the hot weather.
