Trips around Talisker

Strange how it takes the first four days before you actually look at the local area! It really is much more attractive than I had imagined--in spite of mixed showers and sunshine. The peninsular accommodates a lot of attractive houses nestled in a hilly terrain with many trees and shrubs. The coast is dotted with small, very coloured, fishing vessels and in a final ice-age scuplted valley, Glen Brittle, at the end of a very long and windy road,

we found a YHA. At the very end a cafe / shop, serving a campsite, looking quite spartan, but a very welcome sight, for travellers.

There were also waterfalls and very old, moss covered pine forests. There are 'beaches' but not inviting--however, I can only resort to old adjectives used about Scotland-- a majesty and grandeur that is impressive.
