Trotternish--a circular tour

Trotternish is a large Scottish region in Skye-a  peninsula of land with a road around the edge.

The major place of interest was on the northern tip where a group of crofters' cottages has been refurbished including life-like models.

The reception desk was manned by Gaelic speakers and the major tourist nationality was again German. A fascinating story was told of a resident family who migrated from there to the 'new world' of America, got caught up in the war of Independance there, on the Royalist side  and, after imprisonment there,  later returned to Trottenish.
