Visit to Agatha Christie's Holiday Home

If you have felt at all envious of us--no need for that today! The longest day of the year and only  11 Deg C and continuous rain--a truly miserable wet English day! The first pics are of our cottage group in the heart of Hope Cove, plus some of the local village shops etc.

We drove to the picturesque town of  Dartmouth-- where  heart and soul of the British Royal Navy lives--where the Mayflower sailed from--and took the ferry "Christie-Belle" to Churston on the other side of the River Dart, where the house Greenway has been restored by the National Trust in the fashion that it was when Agatha Christie was there. The NT have done their usual excellent job to make it memorable as a visit.

There was a lot of boat training going on, on the way back and I managed to get some naval cadets to wave for me!

The house outside was not impressive and no photos were allowed inside.

After our evening meal (cooked again by Jacqui) we did the only British thing you can do on a wet night--we  went to the pub!
