Wendover

Following a lovely country walk with them,  we thoroughly enjoyed a dinner, cooked by Jenny,  with our friends Chris and Jennifer. Chris's brother and wife, Mike and Vicky, also joined us fore us all to  reminisce and discuss new experiences.

Our favourite Inn-The Red Dragon, had been sold to a chain, re-named Bel and Dragon, very tastefully upgraded and was so booked up  we only got one night there.

It really was a (small) but very attractive and quaint attic room with very low door frame (ouch X 3 !) and good breakfast.

The journey to it,at night was blocked by the evil HS2 roadworks and rerouted 12kms along the narrowest country lanes ever --worse than Devon-an exciting drive.

Next morning we took the opportunity to visit the Windmill where we stayed with all the family in 2016 and were lucky enough to meet the new owner at the door.

She was delighted to hear of our experience there and told us of some essential renovations to the balcony at the top. We also dropped past Jacqie and Tom's house in Prestwood and were lucky to catch their neighbours Sheila and Tim and catch up. I had a hearing aid issue and dropped in at Aston Hearing in Amersham and spoke to an audiologist with a hearing impaired daughter and had the most helpful, honest and sales-free conversation ever.
