What a week!
On Wednesday I was invited with other leaders, to a reception held by the current Prime minister, 'Scomo' for the launch of a big annual community fund raising event designed by a previous Federal minister, Bruce Baird, a good bloke, to assist community groups make money with least effort. So here I am with Scomo.
On the Saturday afternoon, Mary and I had been invited to a reception to meet the new Consul General from France for Sydney and farewell the outgoing one-- a very popular man,

who Mary and I had already met at our bilingual school.

In the evening we went to a huge Prom music festival in Town Hall, Sydney which was thunderous, encouraged by an amazing conductor imported from London.

Finally, Sunday lunch we attended our local Bastille Day lunch with about 50 others and had a splendid meal and a friend and myself managed to distinguish ourselves by each accidentally kicking over a bottle of French champagne on the floor!
