What we did in Lockdown number 2? 3?....I forget

Delta variant of Covid 19 has wreaked havoc recently with NSW, Victoria and now S. Australia now in lockdown.

There's plenty of garden to still do as well as having a few walks when we can--but no cafe visits etc. We've also got a box set of The Darling Buds of May to watch, for light relief from the depressing news stories. Reminder of a simpler time in the past.

Mary dug up an enormous and undeformed carrot, which has found it's way into several soups.

I have built a mobile raised garden bed, on five industrial grade wheels and  a smaller raised seed bed on a trestle.

We have also cleared many roots and small dead trees or shrubs (the roots are very difficult to get out). We've pruned everything , used small tree trunks to make a 'still life' garden feature, started to sort my shed, built plant pot bases, built a new compost heap, for stage 3 compost, moved flagstones and  done some edging. I also built a small path for Mary to reach her 'plots'!

A couple of days ago we got out into the Royal Nat Park for a nice change (only allowed in pairs) and today, in 6 Deg temp,  I walked with a friend around our coastal sandhills with views back to Cronulla . There's some massive new excavation work going on there in the hills. (Small town? Hotels? New waste dump? reservoir?)

As I type this , daughter Jacqui and family are over Europe on their way to Sydney via Singapore for a two week quarantine in a designated apartment block before being released to us for an indeterminate time. Instead of the daily WhatsApp pics and videos we'll have the 'real thing' waking us up at crack of dawn--can't wait!? They left the day Boris removed all restrictions in the UK and arrive here in a lockdown. Irony.
