Wildflowers on Scout Scar
Bright Eye, Birds' Foot Trefoil, Ladies' Bed Straw, Thistle, Wild Strawberry, Meadowsweet and Harebell were in evidence and the orchid Red Helliborine was just about to bloom. There ws a bumblebee, as well.
There were Galloway cows in the field.
We met there with Hilary and Tony and joined Anna and children, plus the 3 dogs, then went to Sizergh Castle NT tearooms for afternoon tea and scones with jam and cream and other unhealthy choices! We passed a cottage which has made itself well-known for it's annual display of flowers on both sides of the road.
