A busy day!

I did plan the morning kayak trip to Bundeena and back, where I made an appointment to see the physiotherapist next week (she is the flute player in our community band!). I also had agreed to a half hour swim at 2.00pm with a friend, but the call to assist the scouts on a 20km mountain bike ride in the National Park, starting 6.00pm, was unexpected! However, having just completed a cycling course and got my bike in good order, it seemed churlish to refuse.

I was in the lead group and at a certain distance, not quite the half-way point- we decided it was getting dark so turned around. Just at that point, one of the smallest scouts, said his bike chain had come off. I even had special gloves for this very event, but the bike was old and had no gears and there was no flexibility in the chain movement. In addition, it became apparent that the chain and everything else, had never been maintained properly--the chain and cogs were totally rust-coverd--no oil in sight. Finally another scout with nimble fingers managed the repair and we set back off--in total darkness--where I could now check my new headlamp!

We fianlly got back to be met with hamburger and onion sandwiches and lamingtons, plus small Easter eggs!
