Arrival day

John painted their new extension and Penny visited Katoomba. Mary and I did the Evans Head walk and on arrival at Govatts Leap lookout we heard a group of three people speaking French. We spoke to them and the the fourth person, a man standing nearby, said in  a very Australian accent, that he thought he knew us, then he spoke in French to the other three!

At first none of us could work out what was going on. Then the Australian, Brett, from Cronulla,  explained that he met Mary and I three years ago  with his Swiss French parner, Babette, at a U3A conversation class in Sutherland library, while they were visiting Australia!

They are now living in Australia and they had two tourists from Stitzerland with them.   Small world!

Mary and I continued up Braeside walk and there is a pic of Mary with her new carbon fibre Pacerpoles, of which she is very proud.
