Australia Day 2014 at Cronulla Beach
We saw the fireworks from the balcony of a friend's flat (where we enjoyed a nice meal) overlooking the beach.
Wandering through the crowds I met some interesting friends and people--Rikki and daughter Naan, amongst all the revellers.
An interesting older couple sporting great hats --who said they were 'Ken and Sue from Peakhurst'.
There were the usual queues for toilets.
There were also charity stalls The 'Dandelions'
and the State Emergency Services were on hand for any rescue incidents.
The main performer on the large stage was Kate Ceberano.
The crowd, mainly families, was very well behaved, the enormous police presence, keeping any alcohol-fuelled party-goers away.
We counted 10 officers at just the train station entrance.
