Kayaking today, I was met at the boatramp by some serious looking pelicans--gosh they look big close-up and when they open their beaks--really scary! Later I saw the human equivalent of aggressive stance--some people go to extraordinary lengths to protect their properties!

This afternoon a friend (Roger) and I went for an hour's walk around Darook Park Point. Unfortunately the tide was wrong--so we ended up...as you can see! On a brighter note, I have a garden bed full of Bromeliads (courtesy of daughter Alison) and they do
Bushwalking
While Mary slept off a heavy cold, I continued with a walk we had planned to join with friends from our French group, Ludivine, Agnès, Helen and Greg. The weather was perfect and the route took us through widely varying vegetation, coastal plains, forests, palm jungle and temperate rain forest.
Visitors
Last night we were invited to Roger and Lorraine's with Lindsay, Françoise and their son Ethan. After an excellent meal, Roger played Leggo with Ethan while Lorraine, Françoise and Mary planned trips around Paris this summer!

One of many services held across the country, the Cronulla march started at 5.00am accompanied by hundreds of local residents, stopping at the war memorial for a brilliant speech by a WWII RAAF officer who survived four years as a Lancaster bomber pilot over Europe and later in Vietnam.
