Cowra trip day 3

Today we drove to Conimbla National Park for a 2 hour return walk to the Iron Bark forest. We drove to Gooloogong to find somewhere to eat our sandwiches but blinked and missed it, though I do recall seeing a small old country sign to a racecourse, which I believe is very famous.

We continued to Grenfell, much larger place and birthplace of famous Australian poet Henry Lawson.  There's a pic of Mary showing Henry Lawson the map! This place really does know how to represent it's history to visitors . It also has painted silos --very well executed. I'm told the artist was Cambodian !

Sadly, a large number of shops and service businesses have closed due to Covid 19 plus other country economic factors, but it looks very well kept and has a certain pride about it.

The chalk sign outside a pub confused me until someone said "It's Snitty, not Switty" !--Schnitzel!
