Cowra trip day 4

From our motel we drove to a small village called Carcoar 'the town that time forgot'. It really is like that with, stream and wooden bridge,  a church in European style with square tower and steeple, old style houses and shops and a long history of significance in the local agricultural area. It is the home of the Wiradjuri Tribe.

It is also the home of a gold medal Paralympian, Kurt Fearnley, now an ABC interviewer and presenter from his wheelchair. He is very photogenic and has a lovely interviewing style, especially with elite upcoming athletes and sportspeople. There is evidence of a lot of good humour in the village, judging by the signage.

From there we went to Blackheath to home of cousin John and Penny and their splendid garden. We are there now.

The country roads are really good but have quite a few trucks and B doubles, servicing the crop and animal farms. Many of the largest trucks carry livestock for the live export industry to Islamic countries (not an industry I support).
