New Year's Eve 2014--Sydney foreshore

Against all advice (what's new?) I took the train at night, to the wicked city, to see the lights, mainly of close-ups of the bridge itself.

The total ban on alcohol seemed to be the cause of reduced numbers   and the place was filled with families from many, many  cultures, all behaving extremely well and politely and enjoying the atmosphere. The crowds were all well behaved and it was safer than the local streets at home, I later discovered! If the ones who stayed away only wanted to get boozed there- glad they stayed away!
