Today we had a big meeting with family, medical specialists, physiotherapy, social work and myself,to set the path forward for a safe return to home. There is considerable physiotherapy needed for my right leg plus rehab. While exact dates are not necessary or possible, it was decided to continue

I'm just coming to terms with the fact that my operation caused me to be unconcious for a week and that the drugs have left me very confused about the sequence of events. The operation was a complete success. There was massive blood loss so Dr McMullen told
Bob is doing really well now. He is awake and talking and they hope to get him out of bed and sitting in a chair for a bit Wednesday. Mary.
Bob is doing really well. He is off the extreme danger list now, and by tomorrow (Monday), will hopefully have regained consciousness.
Bob's second operation went well! He will be woken up slowly today or tomorrow. Thanks for the messages of support. Sorry we can't reply to them all individually. Mary.
Bob's operation on Wednesday was long and difficult. There were complications but he pulled through and is in a stable condition. He has to have more surgery this afternoon. He is heavily sedated but looks a good colour. More details at a later date. Please keep praying for

I am required at St George hospital tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11.30am East Aust Time. The only delay would be an unexpected emergency leaving no theatre available. Surgery is expected to last about 4 hours (!) and I will come round in critical (intensive ) care, presumably in the evening or later.

Over a one-night stay with cousin John and Penny in Blackheath, we visited this historic house, about 150 years old, with some friends of theirs from their schooldays. The place has been upgraded for tourist information, including hologram presentations and audios describing the harsh punishments meted out to prisoners

After the much dreaded night of laxative preparation (!) I went in trepidation to the hospital and to lowest point of being 'trolleyed' into the theatre with canula in arm and gown and hat. Staying calm by practising the 'Mindfulness' techniques passed to me by daughter Alison.

Well, if you are going through medical treatment, at least it's nice to have this just 5 minutes drive away! Air temp 30 Deg C and water just under 23. 'Perfick' in the words of Sidney Larkin (who remembers him!?)
