Rainbow Lake and Sawpit Track

Our last full day and we decided on an easier day, with a walk to Rainbow Lake. Some early rain and 50kph wind had subsided when we set off. I have always dismissed doing this short (4.0km) walk but it turned out to be a scenic gem. A short track through fire damaged scrub to a Lake or dam, constructed for a nearby hotel. It contained some charming small  and variagated leafed water lillies with small yellow blooms. The light on the lake set it off as picturesque. I wore my 'head-sox'thing against the wind and very cosy it was too!

We also did a short walk along the Sawpit Track, where we saw a kangaroo. Mary said it was red but it was grey to me. Very difficult to take a pic with all the camouflage around.

Back at our hotel we were pleased to find the chef had returned, complete with long hair, beard and reversed baseball hat, who prepared some very tasty Mexican meals .

The gap student girl who looked after us so well, Beth, gave me permission to picture her in her licensed cafe setting . Lovely smile.

The hotel is part of a small chain owned by a sort of micro media mogul, a local - Kevin Blyton , who owns radio stations probably amongst other things.
