Recent happenings

Well, after a year or so since I 'rejoined life' and I was never so busy!

My 'Great Outdoors' birthday party was a great success. We braved the (sometimes dicey) August elements and celebrated my favourite way - under canvas! With braziers glowing, exquisite food, great company, embarrassing (yet touching!) speeches from family, and some technical wizardry, I gracefully looked 60 full in the face and took it like a man.

Since then I have become an Australian citizen (only 26 years of procrastinating!), retired, organized and sold 3000 calendars to raise money for the local Scouting group, bought a car (an Outback H6), reinvigorated my Kayak, and been on yet another Scout camp.

Who said retirement was for having time to yourself? I'm glad I chose to do it young - I've never worked so hard in my life!
