Rockhampton wedding

Yesterday afternoon all the guests staying at our 'Seaspray'resort were bussed to Ritamada, a function centre overlooking Great Keppel Island. It was no coincidence that there was a full moon--many details had been planned. the bride, Margot has a sister, Elizabeth,  who runs a UK pop group -" Allo Darlin' " and they had come specially for the wedding and to play their own composition 'Capricornia'. There were fireworks on the beach, piped in by a Scottish piper, and a continual supply of amazing food. Margot's father has a history of organising major State events and it all bore the mark of a professional work.

The civil marriage was thoughtfully executed with Alex and Margot explaining, convincingly,  why public commitment to marriage is important  to them.

(Alex is the son of my cousin John and his wife Penny. who live in the Blue Mountains. Many  people noted the family resemblances that John and I share).

Their daughter, Anna and husband Adam, could not be there as Anna has just had her first baby, in Sydney.

The free-flowing food was amazing, eaten under a huge marquee and the dancefloor was quickly filled under a star-studded southern sky.

There were  fireworks from the beach --very popular with everyone.

A  romantic setting for two very 'star-studded' young people.
