Snowy Mountains Trip

We arrived yesterday late afternoon and today we decided on the main Range --as the weather looked perfect--and was! The following pictures are from out side the ski lodge, then Mary crossing the Snowy River,  the main range walk and myself and Mark on the top of Kosciuszco (very crowded). A Polish mother and daughter, on the walk,  taught us how to pronounce the word.

At base of the peak we helped a young man encourage his wife to go to the top. They are both Islamic from Rockdale and they admitted that hiking is not a popular activity with Islamic peoples. The man --Mohammed--told us he encourages others to get out and his wife, Nasreen, is a recent convert. We continued an interesting conversation on the way back, covering kayaking, walking, the Taliban and  technical careers among other things.
