S.W. Arm with Chris and Mary
A beautiful cool day for a trip launching at a scout hall ramp in Lilli Pilli. We noticed that they have totally resurfaced a long section of the road into Lilli Pilli and we could only conclude that it was because it is the residential suburb of our PM--they do that sort of thing for pollies--irrespective of party.
Our neighbour took the pic of us after loading the car. When we got into the arm of the river we saw and smelt bushfire smoke and saw a water bombing helicopter in action. The conclusion was that it was an out-of-control backburn.
Later --when home --National News confirmed that we were in a backburn area. Lucky it didn't reach the river bank.
On return, Mary cooked the Patagonian Toothfish that Michael and Kris gave us at the weekend-- very nice, thank you both!
