The red dragonfly (or probably it's offspring) has returned (or continues to live) near the pond. I saw the female laying eggs in the pond last year. They can fly in 6 different directions--up/down. left/right. forward/backwards, so 80% of their brain is taken up

A couple of weeks ago, Michael helped me fell this old tree, which had developed a split in the trunk and was dangerous. The wood was very easy to saw and the logs will be great for a wood stove. Later, friend Matt arrived with a chain saw to cut

The Cleome plants have proved phenomenally successful in one (sunny) part of the garden --as you can see. They are tallest ones I have ever seen -anywhere!

Who says Sydney doesn't have any good doors, like those in Europe? I found a few today on Macquarrie Street, together with some colonial connections, after leaving the train at -guess where. Not sure about the building marked Dept of health with 'Bar' on the entrance

Cronulla Festival last week was a bit of a 'wash-out'. This week there were more cheerful surf competitions --amongst the seaweed, which has piled up in the nearby sea-pool!
