Wildman Wilderness Lodge

Our first day took all 16 of us, from Darwin at 30Deg C (!),  in a 'luxury' 4 wheel drive through Palmerston , toward Tumbling Waters, to Wangi falls, where some swam, (we were too terrified of crocs!),

Florence Falls with a large group near the falls,We saw Cathedral and 'magnetic' termite mounds and were educated about them very thoroughly.

Then through Batchelor to  Coroboree Park Tavern,

a real NT outback pub with WW11 Jeep, and into the Mary River wetlands flood plain (bone dry!) and to Wildman Lodge.

This lodge is a weird place with an airstrip out the back, next to our sort of permanent tent structures,  owned and run by someone behaving like a strict school head teacher (actually a retired doctor) . Took forever to get there and the meal was good, but an Australian version of Fawlty Towers!
