Just a short trip at high tide to Maianbar cafè, plus quick diversion the Basin, where we got driven by the current into a dead tree fallen at the bankside. A man pulled our kayak back out, in waist deep water. No big drama but a bit embarrassing!

First solo paddle this year to café at Maianbar in perfect conditions. Paddled just beyond the bridge at The Basin--quite a few paddlers there, amongst the mangrovesfrom Bundeena kayaks.

Accompanied by friend Matt, we set off from Wally's Wharf and did the 7.3 km return trip to Warrambul (?) in the National Park. All OK but needed a bit of help exiting kayak as my right leg still too weak to completely support my weight. No problems

With warmer weather and a manageable breeze and high tide, I set off for Mainabar and the café for lunch! The water was very clear . In case you were wondering--I balanced the camera on a bough of a dead and capsized gum tree.

As a qualified kayaker, I was asked to assist as leader, with 19 cubs at Swallow Rock recently. They were fine on land but as soon as we launched it was like herding cats--or ducks maybe!
