Today Florence joined us for a kayak and swim near the 'Basin'--in perfect weather. We started at Water Street ramp. At the basin we saw a large turtle--the first I have ever seen in the wild! To difficult to take a pic--they move fast. Mary

Today, for our weekly walk, we were joined on the walk and for coffee by Frank's daughter-in-law, Florence, from the Ardeche area in France. Florence is in Australia with her daughter Mia --trés mignon. Photo, courtesy of friend Lucy.

Down at the beachside at Cronulla today, a couple of Dragon boat teams were preparing to race to the surf. They seem to have their 'mascot' on display, a pink warthog, pig, sanglier??

A day of terrible weather for the wedding of a friend -Dayna--of our eldest daughter and husband, Alison and Craig. The civil service was conducted in a nice restaurant called the 'Nun's Pool' after a local sea pool. The groom is Jose, of Chilean origin.

The red dragonfly (or probably it's offspring) has returned (or continues to live) near the pond. I saw the female laying eggs in the pond last year. They can fly in 6 different directions--up/down. left/right. forward/backwards, so 80% of their brain is taken up

Kayaking
Being a Thursday (our weekly 'explore somewhere different' day) Mary and I kayaked into the National Park at high tide today, which allowed us to get into a lagoon in the park, with a narrow connection to river and sea. We had a picnic there then rewarded ourselves

Checking your skin regularly is an important thing here in Oz. Normally I have a GP friend who has dermatological qualifications, so when I was persuaded to see another GP in the practice, he was keen to show he was thorough and quickly found two black spots on my arm,
