Today we braved 60-100km winds and 8 Deg C, or less, on top of Thredbo, to do this walk. The chairlift area was dominated by a private school mountain bike extavaganza--all waiting for the lift. On the lift, we could see the cross country 'jumps' below

Today we got to the top, with friends, passing by Seaman's Hut, in a walk that lasted over 8 hours and included a helicopter working on path repairs!

For the first day we drove to Perisher from our lodge=-'Pygmy Possum' at Charlotte Pass and walked out to Porcupine Rocks with Roger, Lorraine, John and Pauline. It was a perfect walking day. The first pic shows our lounge and kitchen plus a view from the balcony.

Tomorrow we set off for Charlotte Pass from where we will be bushwalking in the Snowy Mountains for a week. Temperatures down to minus 1 at night --a relief from this heat and humidity in Sydney. Not much rain expected, or high winds--so should be good. Hopefully there is

Today all the family met with John and Penny, Adam, Anna and James, at Blackheath. We introduced Jess and Toby to rock climbing and canyonning at Walls Edge (very famous for climbers worldwide) and Centennial Glen - part of Porters Pass, to see a real canyon, which they had to crawl

Fortunate to have all the family at our place this year, we indulged in a lot of seafood, presents, Skyping Jacqui and Tom and some word guessing/acting games. It rained all day, so we spent about 9 hours in the house--something of a record, these days. The group
