Today Matt and I explored South West Arm of the Hacking River in very good conditions. I took an underwater shot from the kayak to show how clear the water is--the sea-grass looks as if it is on the surface. At the end of the 'arm'

Today, as the sea continues to be very flat, I decided to go as far as Cronulla beach, a few kilometres away and necessitating going further out to sea than normal. It was a good trip and I was able to use the sail for a time, in both directions.

In very good weather, Matt and I left Wally's wharf for Bundeena and the coffee shop, using our sails for the whole journey there. Of course, coming back meant paddling instead, but overall very enjoyable. There is one pic of Matt looking very remote and át sea'

Today we kayaked with Valentina to Audley. Mary used a single kayak and found it worked well. We met the Lassaunière family at the riverside with their baby Roman. On return we saw Frank and his grandaughters picnicking by the river. Cousin John and wife Penny arrived in the afternoon

Today Florence joined us for a kayak and swim near the 'Basin'--in perfect weather. We started at Water Street ramp. At the basin we saw a large turtle--the first I have ever seen in the wild! To difficult to take a pic--they move fast. Mary

Being a Thursday (our weekly 'explore somewhere different' day) Mary and I kayaked into the National Park at high tide today, which allowed us to get into a lagoon in the park, with a narrow connection to river and sea. We had a picnic there then rewarded ourselves

Today I explored a short section from a newly-discovered launch ramp at Sandy Point. This is one of 4 major rivers running W to East in the Sydney basin. It is much larger than our local Hacking River and less picturesque at this river point--but better further upstream.
