Today--Saturday June 12th--Trooping the Colour Day--we photographed `Buck House' and guards and got some good pics of the fly-past-here's one of a tornado. That evening-- a lot of packing in preparation for our trip to Provence with Jacqui and Tom.

Later the same day, we visited a 500 year-old National Trust House in Hackney, which appears to have been inhabited by possible relatives in the 1800's -- Huguenot family! Amazing history attached to the house, the dissolution of the monasteries under henry VIIIth was planned in this house!

There followed a lot of displays and African drumming and parades--all transmitted on to a huge screen. Not to be outdone by the Lord Mayor and Mary- I found a couple of friendly S. Africans to be photographed with!

Friday June 11th--- Crossing Trafalgar Square to see the start of the celebrations there of the first World Cup game--we ran into the Lord Mayor of London-Boris Johnson--complete with his bike! He was leaving a meeting --see pic with Mary.

There are one or two more underground/overground train lines in London--with very smart new carriages. Even the old ones don't have the graffiti and glass scratching we have in Sydney--partly as they are more heavily used and also that ALL classes of people use them-
