At this time of year the flowers in the mountains are spectacular. John and I walked out to Hat Hill -part of the trailto Bald Hill. On the way we passed an amazing geological feature of ironstone 'tubes' encrusted with silica, found only elsewhere in Venezuala.

Our over-achieving venturer leader, Baggy, discovered a really good way to raise funds--offer to pack bags for customers at Woolies and Coles supermarkets --with a donation bucket nearby! Some of the proceeds will go to charity, the balance being for expedition work. The idea worked very well indeed

In spite of the cool misty rain, 7 of us, Ludy, Annette and Dominic, Steve and Jesse, Mary and I, walked from Wattamolla to Curracurang--and the waterfall and then on to Curracurong, passing the well-known 'Eagle Rock' (isn't that a song?)
