A long weekend starting yesterday, visiting cousin Margaret and then Michael, Kris and Lachie in their new rental home at Merewether, near Newcastle. We were going to take Margaret to lunch but she had very generously prepared a lunch for us. She looked very well after her recent hospital experiences.

We came home to see our cat Boots, 19, sitting by the back door. Daughter Jacqui had been looking after her and warned us she seemed to have stopped eating. She was very frail and we thought she would not survive the night. She did , just, but expired peaceably later
